Clarity I Decide for Me - High School

SHS (Health Classes)

The Indiana General Assembly has voted new legislation into law, Senate Enrolled Act No. 422, regarding the teaching of Human Sexuality in the classroom. As a school partner with a long-standing history of teaching Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (SRAE) to students in your district, we are reaching out to share this legislation along with our compliance so that it can be governing board-approved for implementation in the 2025-2026 school year.

Major changes in the legislation, which would be new information regarding I Decide For Me™ (IDFM) curriculum include:

  • Addition of a three-minute video of the stages of fetal development

  • Addition of a video (computer-generated) of fertilization

  • Sharing with parents who will be teaching their students and if students will be taught in a unified class or divided into separate classes by gender

  • Sharing the purpose of the curriculum and purpose of the surveys

  • We are actively updating IDFM with age-appropriate and medically accurate videos and will have all revised materials uploaded to our website.

  • All IDFM materials are visible for parent, student, and administrative transparency. To comply with this bill, our website can be used to communicate with parents. I Decide for Me (High School)

Also linked are the required documents and information as identified in the legislation regarding the means of instruction and the purpose.

An additional requirement of this bill is to teach on consent, which IDFM currently teaches as a protective factor. We continue to teach abstinence until marriage and have not changed any of the other concepts within our program.
