Launched in 2016, the Shelbyville Central Education Foundation seeks to promote and support creativity, innovation, and excellence in the
SCS community. As part of our mission, our go
al is to encourage academic excellence and recognize the accomplishments of students,
staff, faculty, and alumni.
Shelbyville Central Education Foundation had a busy summer/fall. We provided
a tour of SHS to the Class of 2001. We also sponsored the
SHS Alumni Hall of Fame Banquet, where we honored many of the past inductees and families before and during half-time of a football
game. The foundation distributed over $1,600 in grants to several teachers in August for the purchase of drawstring bags, flexible seating,
lightboard tables, and to help start a chess club.The Foundation just finished the sale of iPads that were donated by SCS. The money raised will fund future grants for SCS classrooms as
well as a $1,000 scholarship for a graduating senior at
SHS. The scholarship is in partnership with the Blue River Community Foundation
and will be available beginning this academic year.
